About 68 Grand Street
Grand Street Community Arts’ home is the former St. Anthony’s Church, a beautiful Italian Renaissance Revival church which was, until the 1970s, the center of a thriving Italian neighborhood. It lost its parishioners during the construction of the Empire State Plaza and eventually was closed for years.
Our organization is working to restore this treasure into a vibrant center for what is now one of the most economically and racially diverse neighborhoods in the City of Albany. Our aim is “to create unity and connection, especially through the arts, in an inner-city neighborhood with racial and economic diversity.”
Your donation supports the continuation of programs, events and activities such as ArtStreet, Chess, WCAA-LP 107.3, continued upgrades to our Community Center and Creatives Arts Workspace.
Volunteers are always welcome. For more information please feel free to contact us at 518-463-2222 or hello@grandarts.org
